BARBADOS’ EAST COAST SEES OVER 3,000 PLANTS NETTED IN DRUG ERADICATION OPERATIONS

On Saturday 19 September 2015, members of the Drug Squad assisted by members of the Tactical Response Unit and the Marine Unit conducted land drug eradication operations.

3,290 cannabis plants were seized from communities in two rural parishes. They were discovered under cultivation, concealed in bushy areas and they ranged between 6 inches to 9 feet.

1. At Coach Hill, St. John, 17 cannabis plants;
2. Welch, St. John, 138 cannabis plants; and
3. Vaughns Land, St. Joseph, 3,135 cannabis plants.

No arrests were made in these seizures.
