Born in 1973, Hind Rabii holds an industrial engineering degree from the Institut Supérieur Industriel in Verviers, Belgium. With her technical expertise and a passion for fashion and creativity, it was only natural that Hind was drawn towards a career in design.

It was while researching for lighting for her own home that the designer decided to commission some lighting pieces which met her standards of excellence, refinement and luxury. The company which bears her name was established in 1997, with the simple aim of offering top-of-the-range Belgian-made lighting to a discerning clientele.

The company which bears her name was established in 1997, with the simple aim of offering top-of-the-range Belgian-made lighting to a discerning clientele.

Alongside her husband, Michel Orban, Hind Rabii created her first collections. Together, they invest in a work for lighting that gives free rein to their creativity. Their engineer training and taste for textures and noble materials allow them to create lighting ranges with pure and simple lines.

Between technology and authenticity, Hind Rabii’s collections testify to an inexhaustible desire of creation to achieve the essential: emotion

A TRADITIONAL SAVOIR-FAIRE

Using 3D design and plans, Hind Rabii and her husband will set about making models and conducting trials in their workshops in Liege province in Belgium. Their premises consist of a woodworking studio, a metal workshop, a finishing workshop as well as a workshop dedicated entirely to the production of lampshades. All their glassware is manufactured by Italian master glassmakers.

Surrounded by carpenters and assemblers, Hind Rabii relies on the traditional savoir-faire of the craftsmen to preserve the quality of her creations.

Every one of their table, wall, pendant, floor or reading lamps is the result of a long design and research process employed by Hind and her husband Michel Orban.

Evolving in a country where numerous cultural influences come together, Hind Rabii is part of the new wave of young Belgian designers. Her sensitivity and femininity are reflected in her creations: the elegant and sober lines of these products create a signature of their own upon these products a signature of their own.

A CONTEMPORARY AND ELEGANT DESIGN

Hind Rabii’s collections come in sconces, table lamps, reading lamps and pendant lamps. Their clean lines along with the authenticity of their materials make these pieces absolutely timeless. Playing with equilibrium, materials and size, Hind Rabii’s lighting collections offer a subtle combination of noble materials – oak, brass, linen, and copper – for a more contemporary touch.

In keeping with the times, Hind Rabii offers varied collections aiming to create products that will find their place in all types of spaces and projects.

In an effort to offer the widest variety possible to satisfy her clientele, the lighting by Hind Rabii is fully customizable. Everything from materials, colors, fabrics and sizes is able to be tailor-made. Thanks to this, Hind Rabii is now recognized in numerous architectural upscale environments: hotels, restaurants and boats appreciate the flexibility of her work as it is ideally suited for creating/designing multiple projects.

VARIED AND CUSTOMIZABLE COLLECTIONS

With her vast experience, particularly in furnishing hotels and restaurants, Hind Rabii chose to give a new twist to the brand by offering more contemporary decorative pieces appealing to an even wider audience.

Buoyed by the success of her collections, Hind Rabii is constantly expanding to keep adding that extra touch of magic to our gardens, patios and pool sides.

In 2012, faced with a growing demand, the designer created her first outdoor collection with two iconic pieces: Terra and Butterfly.

In September 2014, Hind Rabii presented two new collections at Maison&Objet : 3x3x3 and Les Baladeuses

Created in collaboration with Belgian designer Luc Vincent, the collection 3x3x3 comes in three forms, three materials and three colors allowing the products to be mixed according to one's desires and interiors.

Antoine Mege, young French designer, reinvents, for his part, Les Baladeuses. Recognizable thanks to their metal wire structure, these creations today serve a new purpose: these little lamps can be suspended, standing or even hung on a wall thus becoming elements of decoration themselves.
