SUNDAY 26th July 2015 will mark the 78th anniversary of Barbados’ history-making 1937 Uprising…
The Clement Payne Movement will once again lead the national commemoration of this officially recognized “Day Of National Significance” by staging a solemn flower-laying and Re-dedication ceremony at GOLDEN SQUARE in Bridgetown (behind the old National Insurance building on Fairchild Street/ behind the Fire Station on Probyn Street) at 5:00 PM on SUNDAY 26th JULY 2015.
We will be joined in this commemoration by several of the current outstanding Labour leaders of Barbados, as well as by members of the newly established National Coordinating Council For The United Nations Decade For People Of African Descent and by the members of the Pan-African Coalition of Organizations (PACO).
All members of the public are invited to attend this important national commemoration, and are encouraged to bring flowers or floral arrangements to lay at the base of the two commemorative monuments in Golden Square.
A very special invitation goes out to the members of the trade unions of Barbados at this important time of renewal in our national trade union movement.
But most of all,we look forward to seeing you there!
