Sharing a ‘taste of Trinidad and Tobago’ at the Summer Fancy Food Show 2015
Trinidad and Tobago’s participation in the 61st Summer Fancy Food Show kicked off over the weekend at the Jacob Javits Centre, New York, USA. The Show runs for three days.
The more than 40,000 visitors to the Show got a sample of our local gastronomic delights … including SpringTime Foods’ dumplings with crab and salt fish; shark and bake with Swiss sauces; ‘Something Good’ pre-cooked callaloo; corn soup shots by Trinidadian born New York chef Sylvia Alexander; among many others.
“Wonderful;” “Exciting,” were the words used to describe the taste of our foods by persons who sampled the diversity of Trinidadian products on display.
The twenty-three (23) member delegation, include thirteen (13) local companies, namely Sunshine Snacks; Charles Candy; SMAKS Luxury Group Limited; KC Confectionery; Matouk’s; Fresh Start; Habit Link Limited; VEMCO; Jus Rite Creations; Flavour Me Rite; Simply Delightful; Spring Time Foods; and Smart Foods.
