The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) – Barbados Chapter, welcomed a new Board of Directors for the 2015-2016 term on July 16th, 2015. The Chapter has announced the appointment of Marilyn Sealy as President.

In her remarks Sealy stated, “a major part of my focus will be on key professional developmental areas such as the facilitation of workshops on digital media and marketing; brand strategy; crisis communication; and internal communications.”

She stressed the importance of the field of communications in the Barbadian society and encouraged colleagues to continuously deliver effective, strategic campaigns, “while never compromising best practices in communications that meet the highest global standards, so that decision makers fully understand and appreciate the key role played by communications in catering to their several publics,” Sealy said.

Sealy’s team for the executive year includes Sara Odle, President-Elect; Carmel Haynes, VP Finance; Tashida Cox, VP Marketing; Carolyn Williams-Gayle, VP Professional Development; Carol Walcott, VP Communications; Nichole Stuart, VP Membership; and Fay Cooke-Nurse, VP Administration.
