‘Train the Trainer: Reflecting, Re-energising and Re-Tooling for the Future’ – Thirtieth (30th) Anniversary Conference/A.G.M of CARALL

The Caribbean Association of Law Libraries (CARALL) will be hosting its Thirtieth (30th) Anniversary Conference and Annual General Meeting from Monday 29th June to Thursday 2nd July, 2015, at the Accra Beach Hotel & Spa, Christ Church, Barbados. The theme of this year’s Conference is “Train the Trainer: Reflecting, Re-energising and Re-Tooling for the Future.”

An official opening ceremony will be held on Tuesday 30th June, 2015, at 9:30 am, in the Khairoon West Meeting Room of the Accra Beach Hotel & Spa. The Attorney General of Barbados, Adriel Brathwaite Q.C., MP will give the feature address at the opening.  Esteemed members of the local legal and academic community including the Chief Justice Sir Marston Gibson are expected to attend and bring greetings to the Association.

Throughout the Conference, several legal information booksellers / vendors will be exhibiting their materials and services. Members of the public, particularly the legal and academic community, are encouraged to visit the displays by LexisNexis, Oxford University Press, Thomson Reuters and Wildy & Sons.

The membership of the Association consists of professional librarians and para-professionals from judicial, governmental, academic, firm and public libraries from the Commonwealth Caribbean. The current Executive Committee of CARALL comprises:

  • President – Ms. Lynette Isaac (Court Library Services Unit, Judiciary of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago)

  • Vice President – Ms. Jolie Rajah (The Alma Jordan Library, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago)

  • Secretary – Mrs. Janette Bailey-Powell (Supreme Court of Judicature of Jamaica)

  • Treasurer – Ms. Janice Jhinkoo (Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago)
