New Senior Business Development Officer to strengthen Barbados’ UK Team
There is a new senior business development officer (SBDO) in the UK office of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI).
He is Marc McCollin, whose appointment takes effect on June 15, 2015. Marc will spend two week’s orientation in Barbados before taking up his assignment in the UK on July 1, 2015.
Marc is also a former executive director at Intimate Hotels of Barbados where he created marketing opportunities for 47 member properties through various media.
UK Director, Cheryl Carter said, “We look forward to welcoming Marc to the BTMI team in the UK. We are sure that his branding expertise and project management skills will significantly strengthen and enhance, not only Barbados’ positioning across the UK, but also our ability to provide greater support to our partners. We look forward to working with him to continue to grow visitor arrivals from this important market.”
Marc is a graduate of the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Nassau, The Bahamas where he received a B.Sc. in the tourism management programme and holds a M.Sc. in project management and evaluation at the University of the West Indies at Cave Hill, Barbados.
He also holds certificates from Thomas Field Training (TFT) and the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity (BIMAP) and is currently enrolled in the management development programme at the Cave Hill School of Business (CHSB).
