New finance & marketing staff to strengthen Barbados’ Tourism Marketing capabilities
Plans to fill vacant posts are proceeding well at the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) as three new managers of finance and marketing were recently recruited.
“Michelle’s role will factor heavily in our ability to attain the highests levels of fiscal prudence and accountability. We are also keen on exploring new sources of revenue and strengthening our finance policies and systems, and are already benefiting from her expertise in these areas”. said BTMI CEO, William Griffith in welcoming her to the organization.
Michelle has held various senior accounting roles in the private sector and holds membership in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB). She also has a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of the West Indies (UWI) at Cave Hill, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University Of Surrey.
A former part-time tutor at the UWI in the faculty of social sciences, she currently serves as a part-time management tutor at the Barbados Institute of Management and Productivity (BIMAP).
Julie-Ann, a chartered accountant, has over seven combined years of audit and financial managment experience within the hospitality and telecommunications sectors. She is a member of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the UWI’s Cave Hill Campus.
The BTMI has also enlisted the skills of Gabriel Isaie, who has assumed the newly established role of digital marketing and social media manager. Gabriel graduated from the Bachelor’s degree in information technology from the UWI Cave Hill Campus and possesses over eight years experience in international digital marketing, web development and social media strategy in the real estate, luxury rentals and clothing industries.
His skill set includes content management and analytics analysis across multiple digital platforms, including email, search engines and mobile. He is also versed in various coding languages and desktop publishing. With this experience Gabriel has wealth of knowledge of various project lifecycles and digital publishing etiquette for an array of regions and cultures.
