Inaugural Ford Invitational offering golfers chance to win five vehicles
An inaugural golf tournament which offers players the opportunity to drive away with up to five Ford vehicles, tees off this Friday 12 June at the Apes Hill Club in Waterhall, St. James.
The Ford Invitational, the first of its kind in Barbados and the brainchild of automotive company, McEnearney Quality Inc. (MQI), is open to members of the Barbados Golf Association. Members qualified to take part in the invitational after test driving a Ford, one of several major automotive brands represented by MQI. The invitational is taking place at the par-72 course at Apes Hill Club, one of the newest championship golf courses in the Caribbean.
CEO of MQI, Alex MacKenzie, said the invitational, which is expected to attract some 70 participants, was an exciting new initiative. “The response from the golfers has been enthusiastic and they’re excited at the prospect of winning a Ford, which is one of our well-established brands.”
He added that five different Ford models – EcoSport, Kuga, Ranger, Focus Sedan and Focus Wagon – would be on display at each of the course’s par-3 holes and that players could win up to five Fords if they hit a hole-in-one.
MQI, a wholly owned subsidiary of ANSA McAL (Barbados) Ltd., also represents BMW, Kia, Mazda and the Mini. CEO of ANSA McAL Barbados, Nicholas Mouttet said that the group was looking forward to the invitational and would seek to make it an annual event on the BGA calendar.
