Barbadians arrested for hauling Miami weed at GAIA

Members of the Drug Squad have formally charged Ricardo McAlester Waldron, 40 years of Princess Royal Ave, Pinelands, St. Michael, with the below listed offences committed at the Airport on 11 June 2015.

1. Possession of Cannabis
2. Possession with intent to supply Cannabis
3. Trafficking Cannabis;
4. Importation of Cannabis; and
5. Conspiracy to traffic cannabis

Police also arrested and charged Tito Mardonna O’Neil Barrow, 28 years of Bottom Close, Wildey, St. Michael, with the offence of Conspiracy to traffic cannabis in relation to the abovementioned seizure.

On the 11 June 2015, Waldron arrived by air from Miami, USA. During an examination of his suitcase by Customs Officials, eight packages containing the drug were discovered hidden in his suitcase.

Further investigations into this seizure led to Barrow being interviewed in respect of the matter and he was arrested and charged. The cannabis weighed 6.6 lbs.

Waldron and Barrow appeared at the District B Magistrates Court on 15 June 2015. Waldron pleaded guilty to his charges and was granted bail to return to Court on 18 June 2015 pending a pre-sentencing report. Barrow pleaded not guilty and has been granted bail to return to Court on 26 August 2015.
