BAJAN REPORTER WILL CARRY CBB’s MEDIA STATEMENTS AS SOON AS QUARTERLY PRESS CONFERENCES RESUME
I have been quiet for a while on the Central Bank Of Barbados (CBB) who once again issued a quarterly statement minus a media briefing, I have also ignored a book launch they just held and now they’re issuing Savings Bonds – this was, and will continue to be unless situations are redressed, deliberate…
In doing so, I have apparently closed an avenue of seasonal advertisements, which – although welcome – is injurious to my pocket albeit my name is Ian and not Esau! While financial gain is behind this website, I will not sacrifice my dignity at the altar of the CBB’s coffers.

The last time CBB held a Press Conference on a Quarterly Report was May 2014, then after a minor dispute with the Nation Publishing over the wording of a headline which escalated to global attention, now all of Barbados’ media has been ostracised.
Having openly liaised with Dr DeLisle Worrell‘s Danish counterpart Per Callesen in February, we know Barbados is the exception and not the norm for media avoidance.

In good conscience I cannot provide tacit support to an agency who is set on ridiculing Barbadian reporters in ignoring their wishes to hold a Media gathering when a Quarterly report is issued.
It is also Bajan Reporter’s belief how a Central Bank Governor can and MUST recommend to both Prime Minister and/or Minister of Finance when policy or frameworks are drifting astray, not being conveniently mute merely to coincide with political agendas.

Alan Greenspan, Paul Volcker did it in USA with Nixon, Reagan, Clinton and Obama. The Chancellor of the Exchequer in the UK under Gordon Brown was at war with then PM Tony Blair for the same reason. If one has a duty to make sure a country’s finances are in order, then political viewpoints are only hindrances and not necessarily a guarantee for sinecure employment.
Dr Winston Cox kept true to his education, yet he was summarily removed from his post as Governor, then he went on to become Deputy General Secretary of the Commonwealth – if his ideas and capabilities amounted to naught, could he have regained a job which, in essence, was a step up?
Let me make it hereby known, if CBB wishes me to resume spreading propaganda carrying their statements, then their transparency and disclosure must resume with media gatherings for the Quarterly Reports! Do not copy the current Prime Minister of Barbados in ALL his habits! I only wish the rest of Barbadian media would join me in Solidarity?
