Persons charged with firearm offences: Results on weapon at Burial

Police have formally charged wanted men Kerrie Shaquille Thompson 19 years of Field Place, Bayville, St. Michael and Akmal Terrill Haynes 30 years of My Lords Hill, St. Michael with the following offences committed on the 20th April 2015.

1. Possession of a firearm
2. Theft; and
3. Assault

Kerrie Shaquille Thompson 19 years of Field Place, Bayville, St. Michael

Police launched an investigation in response to a video which was circulated on social media showing a firearm seen on the ground at a funeral service. A member of the Barbados Defence Force collected the firearm which was then stolen by a number of culprits after he was struck. The culprits escaped.

The two wanted men accused came into custody with an attorney-at-law.
Kerrie Shaquille Thompson and Akmal Terrill Haynes appeared at the District A Magistrates Court on Friday 22 May, 2015 and were remanded.
