Founded in 1995 by Barbadian-Canadian Ebonnie Rowe, Honey Jam Canada celebrated it’s 20th Anniversary in Toronto on Wednesday, May 27. Artists, sponsors, producers and fans came out to mark this milestone achievement.

Several Barbadians in Toronto came out to support, including model Kari McCarthy Miller and photographer Kadiejra O’Neal. Internationally known video director “Director X”, who filmed Rihanna’s first video, was also in attendance along with Canada’s first lady of hip hop Michie Mee, whose father is Barbadian.

Joy-anne Crichlow of the BTA’s Toronto office also came out to support and they will be offering a prize for one of the artists to travel to Barbados and perform at Honey Jam Barbados taking place in November.
“It was great to look out in the audience and see faces from home and feel the support. It has been a lot of work, dedication and commitment to reach this 20 year milestone but it is my passion project and a labour of love. I am looking forward to marking our 5 year anniversary in Barbados this year.”
