“Best DreamWorks film in 3 years” – Rihanna’s animated sci-fi cartoon ‘Home’

WHETHER IT’S music, fashion or movies, it looks like superstar singer Rihanna is always on top.

Home” is an animated film about a teenage girl called Tip (Rihanna) from the Caribbean island of Barbados, who teams up with a misfit alien (The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons), raked in an amazing $54 million in its 1st week.

Overseas, it earned $48.2 million for a whopping worldwide total of $102.2 million.

According to Box Office Mojo, Home’s $54 million opening ranks eight all-time for DreamWorks Animation (DWA), and third all-time for a non-sequel.

The 3D movie, which also stars Steve Martin and Jennifer Lopez, marks the best opening for a DreamWorks Animation film since Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted 2012 and the third-best showing ever for a DWA title.
