5000 Entrants Key to Meeting Donation Targets – ICBL Pushing Hard in Weeks Leading up to the Race
Meeting its target of 5,000 entrants for this year’s ICBL Family Fun Walk & Run will be key to the leading insurance company’s ability to make the level of donations it would like to the three charities benefitting from this year’s event.
Marketing & Communications Assistant with ICBL, Vicki Olton, said a concerted effort has been made to reach out to a number of schools, in addition to taking the process of registration out into high traffic areas around the island:
“With the help of our ambassadors Kirk Brown, DJ Puffy and Toni Thorne, we have been going into a number of schools on the island to make presentations and encourage them to participate in the school’s challenge. In addition we recently took our registration process to Sheraton Mall and persons can look for us there again on Saturday April 18th, from 2pm to 6pm. We are also currently arranging a few more outdoor registration sessions, which individuals can listen out for over the coming weeks.”
Olton also went to speak on the assistance received thus far from companies who have come on as sponsors of the event:
“This event is by no means a small undertaking, therefore we are exceedingly grateful for the support we have received thus far from corporate Barbados. Their sponsorship, whether in cash or in kind has significantly reduced the cost to ICBL of promoting and putting on this event, which is key to us being able to make significant financial donations to the three chosen charities of the QEH Asthma Bay, the Precious Touch Foundation and the Hope Foundation.”
Businesses and individuals therefore looking to make a contribution of any amount to the cause can feel free to contact any member of the Marketing Department, while individuals and groups looking to register for the walk can do so by logging onto www.familyfun.icb.com.bb or visiting the ICBL head office on Roebuck Street, St. Michael between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm daily.
