Sagicor and Partners Share Wisdom on Estate Planning
Sagicor Life Inc recently announced the winner of a Financial Seminar Promotion held during last year. Barbados Prison Officers’ Association member, Mr. Anthony Lynch, won day-passes for four and lunch at the Hilton Barbados Resort, for his participation in an Estate and Retirement Planning Educational Session.
Mr. Lynch was delighted about his win and, on his return from the Hilton, expressed his gratitude. “I am thankful to Sagicor Life Inc for the financial planning consultation and this wonderful opportunity. My children and I truly enjoyed our experience at the Hilton Barbados Resort. The service was outstanding!”
The Promotion, which was organised by Sagicor Advisor, Mr. Roderick Nurse, sought to educate participants on the important financial, legal and health issues pertinent to Estate and Retirement Planning.
The event showcased presentations by partnering financial services practitioners, including Mr. LeRoi Goodridge of the Barbados Workers Union Co-operative Credit Union Limited; Ms. Mary Thompson, Forensic Nurse of Body Matters and Attorneys-at-Law, Mrs. Susan Sealy and Ms. Aleeza Moseley of Genesis Law and Moseley & Moseley Law Chambers, respectively. Members of staff of the Barbados Prison Association, the Geriatric Hospital, the Immigration Department, the Psychiatric Hospital, St. Philip District Hospital and Queen’s College Secondary School were also invited to engage in direct one-on-one consultations after the presentations.
Mr Nurse, Sagicor’s Advisor, dispelled the notion that estate planning was only for the wealthy or elderly. “Estate planning is simply a way of ensuring that anything you own is distributed in the way that you would wish, should anything happen to you. Sagicor Life Advisors can assist you with these plans, while also helping you to choose a suitable health or life insurance plan which can provide benefits during your life.”
Interim winners included Suzan Goodridge and Antoinette McAllister, who both won breakfast for two at Divi Southwinds Beach Resort of Barbados, while Janice Dottin and Maxine Broomes both won accounts with the Barbados Workers’ Union Cooperative Credit Union Limited.
