Official Statement from the family of Akeem Kennedy, by Dr. Rose-Ann M. Blenman-Abange

The family of Akeem Kennedy, wish to express heartfelt thanks to the Barbadian community! We appreciate the overwhelming support and wish to specially thank the Barbadian public, the Royal Barbados Police Force and the media for all of your efforts during a most challenging and gut-wrenching period for our family.

As a result of your prayers, your working behind the scenes, and your leads, we were able to locate Akeem late yesterday evening (Monday 30th March) at a house in the Rockley area. As expected, he initially appeared traumatized, but glad to see his family. A physical examination performed by a medical practitioner proved that he is fine.

Akeem has resumed his activities as normal and looks forward to returning to school and work. Akeem wishes to express thanks to all who participated in reuniting him with his family, especially the individual who provided the pivotal lead.

We now ask that you please respect the privacy of our family as we rally around our budding chef and all-around loveable guy Akeem, in his time of healing.
