The power of the internet, from Google to Facebook, means that marketing messages can be targeted with precision at billions of users and represents fertile ground for tourism marketers.

In recognition of this Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. has appointed e-marketing professional, Robert Chase, to the post of marketing director. In making this appointment CEO William Griffith emphasized the importance of Destination Barbados making full use of e-marketing to maximize return on its marketing investment (ROI).

Robert, who will be based in their Warrens headquarters, holds a Master's in E-commerce, obtained with distinction, and a Bachelor's in Business Management.

Over the past 15 years he has gained extensive experience in strategic market planning and executing tactical competitive marketing campaigns through various marketing management roles and his digital marketing consultancy. Through the latter he developed websites, provided search engine optimization; email and social media marketing; and marketing strategy planning for clients.

Robert teaches classes in Services Marketing and Strategy at the Barbados Institute of Management & Productivity (BIMAP) and serves his community through Rotary Club South, currently as its youth services director.

Married for 25 years to his wife, Gail, who is President of Global Drug Supply, an offshore e-commerce company Robert has one daughter Courtenay, a Barbados scholar in the UWI medical programme.
