Police have formally charged the below mentioned persons with drug related offences in connection with a seizure of 12 lbs of cannabis. They are:

1 count of Possession with intent to supply; and
1 count of Trafficking in cannabis.
2. Jamal Andre Thorne, 32 years of Cherry Grove, St. John. He was charged with…
2 count of Possession;
2 counts of Possession with intent to supply; and
2 counts of Trafficking in cannabis.
3. Ross Ashton, 37 year old businessman of Rosemont, Deacons Road, St. Michael, was charged with Acts preparatory for the purpose of Trafficking.
On Sunday 25th January 2015, Police intercepted a motorcar at Bay Street, St. Michael and the brothers Jimmy and Jamal Thorne were occupants. A search of the vehicle’s trunk revealed 12 lbs of cannabis. Further investigations led to the arrest of Ashton.
Jimmy Thorne was searched and a small amount of cannabis was found on him. A search warrant was executed at the residence of Jamal Thorne and a quantity of cannabis was found and seized.

Special Constable Jimmy Carlos O’Brian Thorne, his brother Jamal Andre Thorne and businessman Ross Ryan Ashton went before Acting Magistrate Alliston Seale in a drugs case that has been a major talking point across Barbados in the last few days.
