At least one polo tournament doesn’t have to worry until 2018 – especially when sponsorship can be hard to earn… The move is provided by an agency whose reputation of always being there when needed most comes to the fore yet again…

Continuing as title sponsor for the Roger Gooding Memorial Trophy, the Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited (ICBL), has pledged its support to the annual competition from 2016 through to 2018.

Alex Tasker, ICBL’s senior vice-president of business development and marketing, made his generous declaration during a press conference to launch the annual competition at the .

“We at will offer our continued support and we’re going to make a commitment to sponsor 2016, 2017 and 2018 tournaments.

So I think that will take away some of the guesses out there about as to where we plan to go with polo. As we grow in the sport we hope that more and more people appreciate the effort…” Tasker observed.

This year seven teams are scheduled to compete in the tournament, which kicks off on February 17 at the Apes Hill ground.

Group One will include Apes Hill, Silver Point, Clifton and Lion Castle, while Group Two will feature a second Apes Hill unit, Range Rover and ICBL.
