New Look ‘Fete with the Saints’ delights Trinidadian patrons
The recent annual, all inclusive soiree ‘Fete with the Saints’ evoked a spirit of supreme festivity with its change of venue to the grounds of Saint Mary’s College on Serpentine Road, Port-of-Spain.
The prestigious college which has produced some of the twin island republic’s most notable citizens such as Sir Solomon Hochoy, former President Sir Ellis Clarke and, Archbishop Anthony Pantin provided an A-class atmosphere in its new expanded location for its many esteemed guests which included government officials, businessmen, media personalities and general fete enthusiasts.
Fete with the Saints 2015 offered an amazing spread which consisted of Arabic, Creole, East Indian and Grilled delicacies. Patrons this year totally indulged in the barbecued ribs and grilled offerings as evidenced by the long lines at that particular food stall.
Somewhat new to this year’s event was the addition of stewed horse meat which several partiers dared to sample for the first time.
The amazing assortment of food options was complemented by the premium supply of wines and spirits as well as non-alcoholic beverages which was accentuated by top notch bar service.
True fetters converged near the stage area to party to the sweet sounds of Soca as delivered by the extraordinary line-up of entertainment at ‘Fete with the Saints‘.
The evening’s musical acts included the famous Roy Cape All Stars featuring Darnella, Ricardo Drue who sang the mega-hit “Vagabond” and the always excitable Blaxx who had the masses jumping and waving to his latest tune “Baddest Crew“.
The Roy Cape set also featured guest artiste Olatunji who had the crowd eating out of his hands with the infectious “Ola”.
However, the night belonged to the reigning Soca Monarch Machel Montano and his band.
The newly re-christened ‘Monk Monte‘ put the proverbial icing on the cake of what was already a sweet and savoury fete experience and had everyone in attendance singing along to “Like Ah Boss”, “Erupt”, “Party Done” and “It’s Carnival“.
It was clear that Fete with the Saints 2015 was a true success and was enjoyed by all in attendance as party goers left complementing the event’s organisers and the new venue.
