Barbados Yellow Pages Encourages Recycling Efforts

Cecil King is the grand prize winner of the Barbados Yellow Pages’ Recycling Competition. The competition is an incentive for persons to recycle their old directories for an opportunity to win attractive prizes. King’s entry was drawn for a tablet and Dorcas Ifill walked away with a Samsung S5 cellular phone.

For King, a frequent user of the Barbados Yellow Pages mobile app, it was a double celebration, as the day he collected the prize was also his 10-year wedding anniversary. Promising to share the tablet with his wife, he jokingly shared that the tablet will definitely be used by “the Kings“.

Ifill recently lost her cellular phone so she was ecstatic with her prize which she described as “timely and perfect” because she could now communicate freely again.

Now in its second year, the Recycling Competition continues to attract the interest of hundreds of Barbadians, who are intent on being environmentally conscious. Pam Roach, Marketing Manager of the Barbados Yellow Pages noted,

We are committed to doing our part to encourage our customers and the public to be environmentally friendly…the prizes are an incentive for persons to participate but beyond the prizes the positive response to our competition highlights that our community is willing to participate in efforts to protect our future. We look forward to continuing our initiatives to assist with recycling.”

The Recycling Competition will be staged again later this year when the new Telephone Directories are being distributed.
