TENANTS OF BAOBAB TOWER SAY – “YES, WE CARE”

The tenants of Baobab Tower in Warrens were so moved by the impact of their ‘Yes We Care‘ Christmas charity drive that they are planning to make it a year-round commitment.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Director of Resource Mobilization & Development at the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), Bonita Morgan, said the staff of several government and regional offices in the Warrens office complex gave generously to the cause of helping persons in need during the month of December 2014. As a result, they were able to make donations to three charities.

The employees made the donations and selected the charities they felt should benefit from the contributions received.

“We made the first presentation to the Campwood Children’s Home in St. Phillip just before Christmas. Our second donation was to the HIV/AIDS Food Bank¬†and the third donation will be to the Vagrants and Homeless Society…”

The donations will help to provide for the vulnerable in our society, including children, who count on these charities for assistance.

“We know that we cannot ignore the plight of persons in need in our society and that a lot of small efforts combined can lead to great things. The staff in the various offices at the Baobab Tower has been tremendous in their support of the Christmas drive and we will collectively be crafting and implementing a year-round programme to support various entities that cater to the needy. We would encourage other companies to use this model to build friendships with other tenants in their office complexes and begin their own outreach programmes. We would love to see a wider “Yes We Care” Barbados programme.” Morgan added.
