Three customers who had never won anything before but now consider themselves ‘very lucky’ visited the new branch of CIBC FirstCaribbean Bank at Warrens just before Christmas to collect their prizes.
They were the Zone 1 Barbados winners in the Christmas Competition for CIBC FirstCaribbean credit card holders. Michael Gill, Pamela Brooker and Irene Noel who collected for her husband Paul Noel, all expressed satisfaction with using their CIBC FirstCaribbean Cards because of the convenience and the ease of use.
Michael Gill who said that he prefers to swipe his card rather than carry cash and though he carries a cheque book admitted that using his credit card is his first option when making a purchase. The cut flower farmer stated that he is not usually lucky but was very happy when he was presented with his GoPro Camera by the Bank.

The second winner who has been in accounting for the past 40 years, stated, with a smile, that she is ‘getting ready to relieve herself of some of the pressure of working every day.’
Pamela Brooker said that she so surprised when she got the call to say that she had won, that she thought someone was playing a prank on her since she had not filled in any forms or anything.
Customers were entered in the competition as entries were generated automatically for every $50 Bds spent in a transaction made by the cardholder using an eligible CIBC FirstCaribbean Credit card.
The third winner – Paul Noel, who sent his wife Irene to collect his Samsung S5, runs a company called Caribbean Horse and was busy on the day of the presentation. Irene also confessed that he didn’t like taking photos and so sent her to collect on his behalf. She confirmed that her husband ‘uses his card a lot especially when he has to travel.’ She also added that he finds it much easier than using cheques or carrying cash.
All customers who used their cards between November 7th and 30th were eligible for this first draw. Another set of winners will be chosen from persons who used their cards in December and will be announced shortly. That prize will be a $3,000 Bds cash prize to a single winner.
Jennifer Fuller Associate Director, Cards Issuing, congratulated the winners and introduced them to the customers standing in line in the banking hall.
