Appeal for witnesses to Errol Barrow Day accident at Sandy Lane

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a serious accident which occurred at the junction of Bennetts and Sandy Lane Roads, St James, about 2:55 pm on Wednesday 21st January 2015, where one of the drivers Denis Wentworth-Linton, 76 years of Barracks Hill, Christ Church, died at the QEH.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the accident, to call the Holetown Station at telephone number 419-1700 or 1701 or Police Emergency number 211.

The deceased was the driver of a motor car which collided with a truck driven by James Boyce, 51 years of Kingsland, Christ Church.

Members of the Barbados Fire Service extricated Wentworth-Linton who was trapped in his car. The 76 year old was reported to have received lacerations to his head, right shoulder and back. He was transported to the QEH by an ambulance, where later in the evening he succumbed to his injuries.
