HBO’S JANUARY MOVIE LINEUP: “The Butler” – Historical drama dir. & prod. by Lee Daniels

HBO announces its exclusive movie premieres for the month of January, each premiering on Saturdays at 21:00hrs. AST* in the Caribbean.

The Butler (Saturday, January 10th), a historical drama directed and produced by Lee Daniels, is loosely based on the real life of Eugene Allen.

Forest Whitaker stars as Cecil Gaines, an African-American who gets hired as a butler at the White House and, over the course of his 34-year tenure, witnesses not only the inner workings of the oval office, but also notable events that shaped history in the 20th century. The film also stars Oprah Winfrey as his wife, Gloria, along with David Oyelowo, Elijah Kelley, David Banner and Mariah Carey.
