Threat, what threat? Barbados’ Finance Minister downplays alleged threat – praises Central Bank for Website, but ignores their Media disrespect

Cry wolf is an expression that means “raise a false alarm“, derived from the fable The Boy Who Cried Wolf. (WIKIPEDIA)

You may recall it was not so long ago when Chris Sinckler implied he received a threat against his life and pledged to have the insidious device probed forthwith… Yet no more was heard? Until now (My thanks to another eagle eyed Social Media practitioner)…

The Cabinet Minister was invited to deliver the keynote at the official launch of the Boarded Hall Green units, not far from South District in St George (brainchild and from pockets of entrepreneur Tony Hoyos). The 55 condos are in 1 or 2 bed allotments and start from as low as $261,000 with financing from Republic Bank. However, Sinckler came to praise them and not buy some, as he quickly stated in his address. Afterwards, Bajan Reporter and the Barbados Advocate decided to touch base on other concerns…

With regards to the purported implication against his lifespan perpetuating, Mr Sinckler claims he took it in stride and ignored his colleagues’ suggestions for himself to be absent from Parliament for an extended period {CLICK ON FOLLOWING ICON FOR FULL AUDIO, SMARTPHONE OR TABLET USERS – PLEASE CLICK ON Sinckler‘s NAME FOR LINK TO AUDIO}

When pressed on the reluctance of the Central Bank to resume Press Conferences HIS regime began in 2009, Sinckler hesitated and eventually stated the decision rests with the Governor, who may be following International protocol {CLICK ON FOLLOWING ICON FOR FULL AUDIO, SMARTPHONE OR TABLET USERS – PLEASE CLICK ON Sinckler’s NAME FOR LINK TO AUDIO}

Pressing the matter, Bajan Reporter reminded the MoF he himself just had a Press Conference and should the CBB not follow suit? Sinckler evaded the matter by latching on the premise how the CBB’s website offers more than enough data for both media and overseas investors {CLICK ON FOLLOWING ICON FOR FULL AUDIO, SMARTPHONE OR TABLET USERS – PLEASE CLICK ON Sinckler‘s NAME FOR LINK TO AUDIO}

Realising the situation was moot with the Cabinet Minister, we decided to look at if entrepreneurs are to create employment – then why do some strangle the job market by seeking “young, honest & Christian female” for a post when there are others from differing age demographics and of other faiths (or none at all, just ethical) who can be equally suited?

Would Sinckler look to confer with the Labour Ministry in placing legislation to combat such discrimination? Mr Sinckler‘s view is that it should be a campaign to appeal to people’s sense of fair play when hiring or to even go so far as select without openly displaying their prejudices {CLICK ON FOLLOWING ICON FOR FULL AUDIO, SMARTPHONE OR TABLET USERS – PLEASE CLICK ON Sinckler‘s NAME FOR LINK TO AUDIO}

While on the topic of cooking things up, John Hazzard catered the event, which saw a wide cross segment of Barbadian society attending the launch of Boarded Hall Green.
