The Sol Scholarship has been renewed to 2017, according to Group CEO Gerard Cox this agreement between Sol and The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus helps in funding those high performing students across the campuses of the University of the West Indies including Cave Hill, Mona, St. Augustine and the Open Campus.

This partnership with the University of the West Indies, according to Dr Pedro Welch also in the video, it’s very much in line with the work which Sol has been undertaking across the region from a social investment and community development perspective – which is a blessing when UWI tuition in Barbados is now left to individuals to fend for themselves. The Scholarship is awarded to eligible students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels enrolled in:

  • Engineering
  • Social Sciences
  • Science & Technology Faculties

Through this programme, Sol facilitated jobs for 4 interns – these candidates demonstrated a high aptitude and interest in their various streams of business. Jacob Hunte, as the Keynote address, is this year’s Scholar who developed a robotic algorithm to assist in agriculture…
