I was told by the irate Mr Lelani that I can put this on Twitter and Facebook, this is not the first time he’s treated people so I learned, but if he wants more customers he needs to do better!

Finally returned to store… After a lengthy discourse with owner’s wife who reprimanded myself for this article and her husband for refusing a solution, as co-owner of Gaalaxy Fashions at Sheraton Mall she instructed staff to let me get similar value of products in lieu of a refund.

So on Friday 7th November I had an evening story where I needed a recorder, I spent almost $200 BBD as seen in the pictures. I used the device, with great difficulty, every time I needed to change a function I had to clear the memory by removing the batteries…

For those unfamiliar? It was Monday 11th November when I sought a refund for a voice recorder I was not satisfied with, was told Owner is out of Island until Thursday evening, waited and went back on morning of Fri. 14th only to learn Owner is not in in that day … However, the point is now moot as I was provided exchange in lieu of a refund…

Mon. 18th I get a call saying Owner found nothing wrong with device (Is there any other answer?), and was told I can speak with a Mr Lelani and given a home number. As the man hears how I want a refund, he becomes aggressive, he asks for my name again, then he starts screaming I can use all my influence and I am not getting a penny back!

I called the Nation and chatted with Maria Bradshaw, who says I have to go to Fair Trading Commission. I call the FTC, and they got my refund? Psyche! Nope, they said I had to try the Office of Public Counsel – who did do some research and called me that Wednesday, they said since I bought the device for professional reasons as opposed to personal use, they cannot pursue the matter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought if unsatisfied and providing a receipt and the majority of packaging device came with - usually meant a successful return? Isn't customer happiness the paramount desire? When a consumer is frustrated, he has no rights?

Meanwhile, I am very happy with the machine I got from Cave Shepherd – ironically, if they were posed with same situation? I know they probably would offer me Cave Shepherd ca$h or try to reach some kind of accord on the matter.
