An Added Flow to St. Philip Carnival

Columbus Telecommunications is giving back to the parish and people of St Philip by sponsoring the St. Philip Carnival with a cheque of $7 000 – this comes after a very successful launch of services in the parish.

Michael Lashley, M.P. Minister of Transport and Works, who is also one of the founders of St. Philip Carnival said “I am extremely pleased that Columbus/Flow has made a significant contribution to this year’s St. Philip Carnival and has shown itself as a true and good corporate citizen and by extension contributing to the cultural, social and economic development of the parish of St. Philip”.

Minister Lashley added that “the community of St. Philip and also the management team of the Legundz Boyz Carnival Band welcomes the contribution“.

Malicious Communications?

Shelley Ann Hee Chung, Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Communications said “Having officially launched our services in St. Philip this past August, St. Philip Carnival and FLOW are a natural synergy so we are very pleased to be part of their Carnival, to provide support to the people of St Philip not only with fast, reliable services and our advance services like Video Cloud Recording and Video on Demand, which we recently launched, but we at FLOW believe in community building projects and what better to invest in, than one which allows the people of St. Philip and Barbados to express themselves creatively and to celebrate the Independence of Barbados.

Mrs. Hee Chung added: “We believe that supporting or creating platforms to empower our youth is the only way forward, and from what I saw, this is one of the ways that our youth express themselves creatively. St. Philip Carnival is more than just a party, but this is an opportunity for designers to show their skills and for entrepreneurs to delve into business opportunities. There is a bigger picture here and FLOW is proud to support and play a part in it.”

St. Philip carnival is set to take place on December 1st this year and promises to be bigger and more exciting this year with eight (8) bands including a children’s band set to take to the road. Flow has also supported the weekly karaoke competitions that takes every Friday and Sunday as the committee builds up to the big day.
