BAILEY OF GUYANA CHARGED WITH DRUG OFFENCES

Police have charged Denroy Emroy Bailey 42 years of Baird Road, Weston, St. James, a Guyanese national, with the offences of:

1. Possession
2. Possession with intent to supply
3. Trafficking; and
4. Importation of ½ kilo of cannabis.

On 8th October 2014, a package shipped from Canada was opened for inspection at the Airport Bond by Customs personnel and was found to contain ½ kilo of compressed cannabis. The illegal drug was found hidden in 6 boxes of cereal. On the same day, further investigations led to the arrest of Bailey.

Bailey is expected to appear at the District B Magistrates Court on Thursday 9th October 2014.
