
The third annual Barbados Investment & Financial Products Showcase (BIAFPS), will take place on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at the Grand Salle, Frank Collymore Hall, Tom Adams Financial Building, from 10 a.m.

The BIAFPS which provides an opportunity for Financial and Investment Institutions to showcase and promote their products and services to the general public, will form part of Global Entrepreneurs Week (GEW), organized by the Barbados Youth Business Trust (BYBT).
The event provides financial education to the general public and serves as a marketing tool for the investment and financial industry sector.

Research has shown that the Barbados Stock Market and various types of investment products are still not fully understood, thus one of the objectives of the BIAFPS is to continue educating the public about the availability of such products.
Speakers for the showcase seminar are: Guyson Mayers, Attorney- at -Law and Author of The Higher Path of Faith; David Simpson, Founder and Managing Director of Prestige Accounting Inc.; Melinda Belle, Founder of Astrape (As-strap-pay) Finance and Fran Downey-Smith, CGA, FCA, Chartered Accountant. Topics to be covered include: How early is too early to start a pension plan; why do I need a financial advisor?; how do I make a decision to invest and with whom?; anti-money laundering – what are the signs? Access to loans for small and micro enterprises is it easy? and others.

The seminar starts from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the showcase will open to the public, including students, from 1 p.m to 5:00 p.m.
