Sagicor pleased by improved response to Globeathon: Sponsors see charity boosted by just under $10K compared to 2013’s earnings

Sagicor’s Assistant VP of Marketing, Tracey Knight-Lloyd, said the increase in participants for the Globeathon this year was proof to the hard work put in by both the Barbados Cancer Society along with the Globeathon Barbados team.

Mrs Knight-Lloyd (in Turquoise) said it also showed now Barbadians were paying attention to the reason behind "Step-tember," as comments were delivered at Collymore Rock by the renovated stairwell.

This as Team Captain of Globeathon Barbados, Dr Vikash Chatrani, indicated initiative had not only raised money but also awareness of below-the-belt cancers during the thank you ceremony at Sagicor, Collymore Rock.

"We're very happy with the funds raised for this worthy cause, but most of all we're flabbergasted with the awareness that we got through a tremendous outpouring of people supporting the programme," Dr Chatrani enthused.
