Queen’s College Association commences QCA Week 2014 by Saturday 4th October

The Queen’s College Association will unofficially launch QCA Week 2014 on Saturday, October 4, with Spruce Up QC – a day of service at the school’s Husbands, St. James location. The alumni have undertaken to repaint the benches and the sundial base, and to repair and refurbish the notice boards used by the houses and clubs. All alumni and past and present staff are invited to take part in this event which starts at 7am. Harris Paints have generously given the QCA a discount on the paints purchased for this project.

The official start of QCA Week is the church service, which takes place on Sunday October 5, at 8am at the Christ the King Anglican Church, Rock Dundo, St. Michael. All past and present Queen’s College students, teachers, staff and families are invited. There is also a live weblink for the services for those who cannot attend in person…

Other events for QCA Week 2014 include visits to older, less active alumnae on Tuesday, October 7 and Thursday, October 9; the annual Elsie Payne Lecture at Queen’s College on Wednesday, October 8; Past vs Present Netball and Basketball on Thursday, October 9. The week of activities will culminate on Friday, October, 10 with Legacy 2014 – the QCA Lime in the Courtyard at the school, starting at 7pm.

This year's Elsie Payne Lecture features alumnus Dane Saddler of Caribbean Villa Chefs who appeared in Scotiabank's Reality TV series "Bank On Me," and limited samples of food will be available for tasting. Also speaking will be business advisor Lynn Beckles (NOT FEATURED HERE).
