MAN CHARGED ON 9 KILOS OF CANNABIS: COULD IT HAVE ASSISTED THE DEFICIT?

Police have charged Dwayne Omar Roachford, 33 years of Field Place, Bayville, St. Michael with the offences of:

1. Possession
2. Possession with intent to supply
3. Trafficking; and
4. Importation of 9 kgs of cannabis.

On September 19th, Roachford went to the Port to clear two barrels which had arrived from the USA earlier in the week.  The barrels were purported to contained food stuff.  On inspection by Customs personnel 12 cans of a food item were discovered, examined and found to contain compressed cannabis, total weight 9 kgs.  He was detained.

Roachford is to appear at the District A Court on Monday 22nd September 2014.
