Cheeseman charged for drug offences: Pressure of Air Compressor too *HIGH*??

As a result of a joint investigation between the Drug Squad and Customs Enforcement, Joanne Cheeseman, 48 years of 2nd Avenue, Melvins, Black Rock, St. Michael, was arrested and charged for the offences of:

1. Possession of 37 lbs of cannabis;
2. Trafficking;
3. Acts Preparatory to trafficking cannabis;
4. No third party Insurance; and
5. No road taxes

On July 3rd, 2014, Cheeseman went to the Bridgetown Port to clear an air compressor imported from Canada. The compressor was found to contain 37 lbs of compressed cannabis hidden inside. She was detained at the Port. Cheeseman was a former Customs Broker and her licence to operate as a Broker was suspected in 2005.

OTHER SEIZURES

On July 1st , 2014, Drug Squad personnel during an operation in Paradise Village, St. Lawrence, Christ Church, seized 118 gms of cannabis. No arrests.

On July 4th, 2014, a postal package was handed over to police containing 541 gms of compressed cannabis. The package arrived from Jamaica, and the illegal drug was concealed in chocolates and coffee. No arrests.
