SHOOTING INCIDENT ON BOARD JOLLY ROGER 1, BLACK PEARL CRUISES

Police have arrested and formally charged Damian Pinder, 26 years of 4th Avenue Pickwick Gap, St. Michael for the offences of:

1. Serious Bodily Harm of Rashidi Branch; and
2. Use of Firearm, in relation to a shooting incident aboard the Jolly Roger.

On Thursday June 26, 2014, about 2.00 am, Rashidi Branch, 23 years of Eden Lodge, St. Michael, received a gunshot injury to his abdomen whilst on a cruise offshore on the Jolly Roger. After the shooting the boat was escorted to the Wharf Road, by members of the Barbados Coast Guard, and the victim was transported to the QEH by ambulance, where he has been detained.

NOTICE: The Royal Barbados Police Force takes this opportunity to remind pleasure crafts owners that it is their responsibility to provide a safe environment for their patrons to socialize.  The Force stands ready to assist the operators to ensure that the regulations are adhered to.  Owner should employ effective security measures to remove the threat of injury to persons who attend events on their crafts and to prohibit the use of illegal drugs.
