‘PAYDAY’, the ‘Real Bajan Movie’ that packed local cinemas from September to December last year will finally be available on DVD. This adult comedy is the first movie to be produced by the team at Bajans in Motion Inc. (BIM). It enjoyed a successful thirteen weeks cinema run, during which time, some Barbadians paid to see it for a second and third time.

While still running in the cinemas in Barbados, PAYDAY also received glowing reviews at regional and International screenings in Toronto, Trinidad and Tobago, New York and Cuba. It will be released later in the year in the U.K. having secured a distribution deal for the United Kingdom and Europe.

The PAYDAY DVD has been very heavily requested from the day we premiered but we did not want to go to DVD too early as it would have compromised us at the box office. Now is the perfect time as “Next PAYDAY” is planned for cinema release by September 2014. This allows enough time for those who haven’t seen PAYDAY to catch up before Next PAYDAY is released” stated Ricky Redman, Director of Bajans in Motion Inc.

Original copies of this highly anticipated DVD are packed with hours of extras including 'behind the scenes' footage, featurettes and music videos from PAYDAY. It provides more laughter and an insight into the making of the movie and the persons behind it giving additional value at an affordable price.

In a strategic move, BIM will take the DVDs directly to the consumer. “We recognise that there is a high demand for the ‘PAYDAY‘ DVD and that if we do not meet the demand fast enough, we will be pirated. We also recognize that some pirates actively take their product directly to the consumer, making them some of the most efficient DVDs distributors out there. BIM will be doing just that. We will take PAYDAY DVDs directly to the public ensuring that our movie is easily accessible to as many Bajans as possible” remarked Selwyne ‘Get Bizzy’ Browne, Director of Bajans in Motion Inc.

BIM will be deploying a team of mobile distributors including some members of the PAYDAY cast and crew. They will also be establishing distribution points across the Island including Wireless World in Sheraton Mall, Sky Mall and Speightstown; Grillicious Restaurants; Acute Vision Inc. and The Good Life Café.

Purchasing the original PAYDAY DVDs will help us to pay our actors and crew and allow us to produce more Barbadian, home grown movies.” Exclaimed Shakirah Bourne writer of PAYDAY and BIM director. “We Barbadians will not be able to see ourselves on the silver screen or we will not be able to tell real Bajan stories and effect the kind of laughter and enjoyment as we did with PAYDAY if we do not legitimately pay for local movies.”

Bajans in Motions Incorporated is currently working on their second of three films to be released this year. ‘Two Smart‘, a psychological thriller starring Alison Hinds, George Gill and Saran Lashley due for release in local cinemas in July 2014.
