The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) will host its second episode of our Destination Caribbean TV show for 2014 on 25 June and we invite you to join us.

About ‘Destination Caribbean’

Destination Caribbean TV show is a series of live television programmes, which examine various issues related to Caribbean tourism while emphasizing the importance of the sector to the region. The shows are aired in over 20 Caribbean countries on the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC)’s cable channel, CaribVision, as well as in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut on cable.

The next show will be dubbed, Building Resilience, Protecting your Image and it will examine the issue of destination brand and image management following a crisis or major issue.

Currently, we’re facing the chikunguyna virus, a number of crimes reported in international media and we’re at the start of the hurricane season. These and so much more are among the issues that can threaten our Caribbean brand. We hope to shed some light on what goes on behind the scenes when these crises occur to ensure our tourism sector is protected over the long term.

The presenter for the night will be Ms. Marie-Claire Williams and she will be joined by a panel of three persons: Jennifer Barrow, a tourism consultant and university lecturer; Sue Springer, executive vice president, Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) and Elizabeth Riley, deputy executive director, Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency.
