DRUG ERADICATION OPERATIONS: CLOSE TO 900 PLANTS REMOVED FROM ST GEORGE, ST JOHN & ST JOSEPH
On Saturday 17th May, 2014, members of the Drug Squad, supported by members of the Canine and Marine Units of the Force and members of the Barbados Defence Force conducted drug eradication operations in several areas in the parishes of St. Joseph, St. George and St. John. A total of 895 cannabis plants were discovered under cultivation mostly hidden in bushy areas.
The seizures were as follows:
{FILE IMAGE – RBPF} 1. Vaughns Land, St. Joseph – 636 plants, tallest 7 feet;
2. Claybury, St John – 110 plants, tallest 3 feet;
3. Valley Land, St. George – 20 plants, tallest 4 feet; and
4. Vaughns Land, St. Joseph – 129 plants – Police arrested and charged Paul Marshall, 28 years of Vaughn’s Land #1, St. Joseph, for the offences of:
- Possession
- Possession with intent to supply
- Trafficking; and
- Cultivation of 129 plants.
A search warrant was executed at Marshall’s residence, and during the search, the cannabis plants were discovered growing in his yard.
Marshall is expected to appear at a Magistrates’ Court on Monday 19 May 2014.
