Members of the Drug Squad arrested and charged Ondrea Griffin, 39 years, of Waverley Cot, St. George, a Postman, with the offences of:

1. Possession;
2. Possession with intent to supply;
3. Trafficking; and
4. Importation of 5 lbs of cannabis.

On 28 January 2014, five (5) lbs of compressed cannabis was discovered at the General Post Office after being mailed to Barbados. Investigations by the Drug Squad led to the arrest of Griffin.

FIRE AT POPULAR SUPERMARKET

Police responded to a report of a fire on the compound of Popular Supermarket, located at Spooners Hill, St. Michael, where boxes stored in the yard of the compound were burnt.

Investigations revealed that the fire started around 2.00 pm on Friday 18 April 2014. 10 members of the Barbados Fire Service with two fire tenders responded to the report. The Operation of the business was not affected.
