Slow Food® Barbados announce their newest addition to Slow Food’s event series, “Farm-To-Chef” which will be held at Holders Farmers Market Sunday May 4th 2014, 10am – 4pm.

Slow Food's "Farm-To-Chef" event, along with our "Farm-To-Table" series, is part of our ongoing initiative to increase awareness around our local foods and food systems. To help steward strong relations between our local farmers, growers, producers, fishers and our local Chefs, restaurants, canteens, hotels and agro-tourism.

It’s about connecting communities through food. Farmer and Chef working together, learning each other’s philosophies in order to help build a thriving Barbados food system.

Farm To Chef Cook Off

Slow Food Barbados and Holders Market are creating a live kitchen event. Chefs in this competition will use the Farm-To-Table philosophy using food that is locally sourced, carefully prepared and what’s seasonally available to create their culinary masterpiece.

These delicious creations will be immediately presented to our seasoned panel of judges for their comments and final scoring. Come watch some of our best chefs as they battle it out to see who's got what it takes to be a true Slow Food, Farm-To-Table chef.

Slow Food and Holders Farmers Market

In addition to the chef challenge we will have local entertainment, youth activities, food demo’s, organic produce, arts and crafts, taste education tables and local chefs giving away their trade secrets and recipes.
