There will be all to play for in final polo match of the season this Saturday as the chukkas will be for charity.
For the second year running, Scotiabank and Rotary West have teamed up to sponsor the last polo of the season match in aid of Rotary West’s charitable projects.
Rotary West’s polo committee chairman Douglas Luke said the projects include a fire safety program for less privileged neighbourhoods, a house repair program for the elderly, literacy programs at the Good Shepherd Primary and Frederick Smith Secondary schools, support of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Inclusive Play Park.
The Polo Classic is set for April 19th at Lion Castle Polo Ground and is the final one in a week of matches between England and Barbados. The charity event hosts some 300 guests in a VIP hospitality tent with this year’s theme being “Mardi Gras”.
“We partnered with Rotary West for the inaugural charity polo match last year. The guests loved it and best of all, it was for a great cause. Scotiabank is committed to helping our communities and so is Rotary so we are really pleased that we can partner with Rotary West to support their excellent work.”
