90 YEAR OLD BARBADIAN MALE DIES IN CH. CH. BLAZE, RBPF INVESTIGATE

Barbadian Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the unnatural death of Goldburne Callender, 90 years of Cane Vale, Christ Church, who died in a fire which extensive damaged his home.

The fire of unknown origin occurred about 12:00 am on Monday 31 March 2014, and extensively damaged the wall constructed house.  The house was occupied by the deceased and nine other persons, 3 of them were children.  Mr. Callender was an amputee and wheel-chair bound.

Members of the Barbados Fire Service led by Acting Chief Fire Officer Maynard along with three fire tenders were deployed at the scene.
