1. A cannabis eradication operation was carried out Friday 14th February 2014 by members of the Drug Squad and supported by members of the Barbados Defence Force. It begun at 6:00 am and targeted areas in St. John, Cherry grove, Wakefield, Easy Hall, Golden Ridge, Todds, St. George and Blackmans, St Joseph.

2. A land based cannabis eradication operation was also carried out Friday 14th February 2014, about 11:15 am, by members of the Police Marine Unit the Drug Squad and supported by the Barbados Defence Force, in the area of Cottage, St. George.

As a result of investigations in the area Taweeni Emmanuel Marques, 21 years of Fusilier Road, Newbury, St George, was arrested and charged for the offences of:

  • Cultivation.
  • Trafficking
  • Possession; and
  • Possession with intent.

173 cannabis plants were seized, the tallest being 4 feet. These plants were concealed in a bushy area.
