The smiles were broader and the cheers were louder when the children from the Challenor Creative Arts & Training Centre arrived at their St. Thomas based home to see a beautifully decorated outdoor area and several children’s attractions. The occasion was the annual SOL sponsored Christmas party.

This year SOL went even further and added several new and exciting surprises for the deserving children. Popular children’s characters Dora and Diego were invited to the party to assist Santa Claus who had a big sack of presents for the children and the staff. Dora and Diego were an instant hit with the children who smiled and hugged the life size characters.

Additionally, jumping tents, a merry go round, face painting and tasty party treats provided several options for the children to enjoy their special day.

Traditionally the Christmas Party was hosted indoors but this year SOL responded favourably to the suggestion made by CEO of the Centre, Sharonne Taitt who wanted the festivities to be celebrated outside.

Office Administrator at SOL (BARBADOS) LTD, Carolyn Springer-Bryan, said SOL is very proud of their association with the Centre and although they had already budgeted for the party there was no hesitation to extend their support further so the children could experience a new type of party:

“Our SOL team looks forward to the Christmas party just as much as the children do…we are delighted to have had an opportunity to go even further with the party this year and when we saw how much the children enjoyed it all we knew it was definitely worth it!”

Several organizations also contributed to the Yuletide cheer, Four and twenty bakery, Corbin’s Catering and Renaissance Designs Inc. were all eager to provide their services so the children could enjoy Christmas 2013.
