Recent spate of criminal activity alarms Barbadian NGO, who expects results right away

The Board of Directors of Crime Stoppers Barbados is worried immensely over the apparent upsurge in criminal activity in Barbados. Citing news reports of a 53 year old woman being found dead at her home in St. Thomas; a shooting incident which took place at 10:40 am in the Christ Church area on October 31st and reports of shooting incidents in New Orleans community, the Board of Crime Stoppers is urging Barbadians to utilize the anonymous mechanism with the organization provides free of charge.

"We cannot allow the criminals in our society to dictate the type of life that we want to have here in Barbados" stated Julie Dash, Chairman of Crime Stoppers Barbados. "Anyone with information on persons who are involved in criminal activity or in possession of illegal firearms can report what they know to Crime Stoppers any time, day or night and remain totally anonymous" continued Dash. "We have received over 1,300 reports to date which have resulted in over 70 persons being arrested by the Police, so the public can feel safe in contacting us at 1-800-8477".
