New British High Commissioner arrives in Barbados, SHE plans to strengthen links during tenure
Mrs Victoria Glynis Dean has been appointed British High Commissioner to Barbados, and the Eastern Caribbean. Mrs Dean will be non-resident High Commissioner to Dominica, Grenada, Antigua & Barbuda, St Vincent & the Grenadines, St Lucia and St Christopher & Nevis, in succession to Mr Paul Brummell, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Mrs Dean will take up her appointment during November 2013.
Shortly ahead of her arrival in the region, Victoria said, “I am very much looking forward to arriving in the Caribbean and taking up this role as British High Commissioner. The warm bilateral relations between the UK and the countries of the Eastern Caribbean offer up a fantastic platform from which to further strengthen and invigorate our ties. My family and I are delighted to be making this our new home, and feel very lucky indeed.”
