{UPDATE – TRAVEL DOCUMENTS} BARBADIAN NATIONAL ARRESTED FOR DRUG OFFENCES

Members of the Drug Squad have arrested and charged Derek Decoursey Jones, 41 years, of Block 4A, Ferniehurst, Black Rock, St. Michael for the offences which occurred at the Airport:

1. Possession of 5 ½ lbs of cannabis
2. Possession with intent to supply – cannabis
3. Trafficking cannabis; and
4. Importation of cannabis.

Jones arrived by air from Jamaica on 1st November 2013, and cleared Immigration, and interviewed by Drug Squad personnel. He was referred to Customs, where his suitcase was searched and two packages of compress cannabis weighing 5 ½ lbs were discovered in a false compartment.

The The Ferniehurst, Black Rock, St. Michael appeared at the District A Magistrates Court today Saturday 2 November 2013 and was granted bail in the sum of $10,000 on his own recognizance.  He is to re-appear at the District B Magistrates Court on 5 November 2013 to answer to the charges.  His bail conditions are that he surrenders his passport and he is to report to the Black Rock Police Station on Monday.
