HBO Latin America announced the premiere of a series of groundbreaking documentaries on Monday nights beginning Oct. 7 and running through mid-December. The lineup is composed of 10 titles with diverse themes that resonate worldwide, including: Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer, Casting By, The Invisible War, Me @ The Zoo, Gasland: Part II, Pelotero, Americans in Bed, How to Survive a Plague, Valentine Road and Life According to Sam.

The documentary lineup includes (in chronological order):

Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer (October 7)
Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer (October 7)

Tells the story of Nadia, Masha and Katia of the feminist art collective Pussy Riot. They were accused of religious hatred in a trial that reverberated around the world and transformed the face of Russian society. Directed by Mike Lerner and Maxim Pozdorovkin.

A fast-paced journey through the last half-century of Hollywood history told from a new, often overlooked perspective: the filmmaking industry’s unsung hero – the casting director.   • The Invisible War (October 21)

Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Kirby Dick investigates the troubling epidemic of rape in the military while speaking with courageous victims who have refused to be intimidated into silence. Directed by Kirby Dick.

  • Me @ The Zoo (October 28)

Inside the life of controversial “Leave Britney Alone” web blogger and Internet celebrity Chris Crocker. Directed by Chris Moukarbel and Valerie Veatch.

  • Gasland: Part II (November 4)

Takes a deeper, wider look at the dangers of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, the controversial method of extracting natural gas and oil, now occurring in 32 countries worldwide. Directed by Josh Fox.

  • Life According to Sam (December 9)

Explores the remarkable world of 16-year-old Sam Berns, spotlighting his family’s courageous fight to save their son from the extremely rare and fatal disease Progeria, a progressive aging disorder. Directed by Sean and Andrea Fine.
